Indeed, to simulate the rear gunner shooting, we
placed the "shooting point" of the machine-gun
at the rear of the plane (in reality, it is the 2nd
machine-gun which is in front of the fighters)
.... but 50 meters/150 feet (!!) behind the plane.
So, an enemy plane which flies just "on
your 6" could be touched by this machine-gun.
In other words:
a) When you shoot, you can shoot with the 2 machine-guns at the same time.
To sight with the rear gunner, select the back view (with key "2" of
the numeric keypad), place your plane in the axis of the enemy plane and… fire!
b) to touch enemy plane with this rear machine-gun, the ennemy should not find
with more than 50 m behind your plane (distance evaluated by the pilot).
c) the direction of the shooting is from the "shooting point" towards
the bomber, but since the option "Friendly fire" on the server is
disable, you cannot damage your plane with your own machine-gun!
d) This "shooting point" (50m behind the tail of bomber), is not
a physical part of the plane, therefore you cannot collide with your opponent
if the enemy plane flies to height of this "shooting point".
